I have been gently prodding Afzal Anwar in the ribs with a pointed stick to get him to say anything remotely interesting on the policy issues of the day. He is after all the Liberal Democrat candidate for Pendle.  (Ladbrokes 40-1). I have never known such a weak candidate. Well, I have his latest offering here in front of me as I tap tap tap this out. The newsletter is called: "Speaking for Pendle". The author: "Afzal Anwar – Born in Pendle". I come to a story about my expenses which, I think, plumbs new depths. My claims for Council Tax on my one bedroom flat in London, for utility bills and such like were, says Anwar, "morally wrong". Oh dear! Anwar should know that I will not be smearing Liberal Democrat MPs in the way that he seeks to smear me. No way. But before he put pen to paper, did he know that a very senior member of his own Party claimed £3,550 for food between April 2008 and March 2009? Now that we’ve got that one out of the way, can the man who was born in Pendle get back to talking policy? Tags:
