I have never been one for political cross dressing. Dumping your own party and taking up with another. It is just my personal point of view. However, it happens all the time. A steady stream of the disaffected, leaving one Party to join another in search of the sunlit uplands. My attention is drawn to a BNP leaflet circulating in Waterside in Colne. It is from Ian Robinson, “your British National Party Candidate”. Is this the same inoffensive and harmless Ian Robinson who was the Lib Dem councillor for the Waterside ward a few years ago? It appears so. But now he has morphed into something altogether more dynamic. If elected, Ian’s voice will cry for Freedom. “Ian has a passionate belief that Waterside is a unique area that should resist the pressures of modernity whilst looking to the future…” What totally meaningless drivel.
