More Focus material from the self styled “Battling Barlicker” comes fluttering through my letterbox this morning.

There is a letter too. Personally addressed to me from David Whipp and written in that curvy blue ink handwriting script that is generated by computer.

Whipp, as we all know, proposed Afzal Anwar for the Parliamentary election. On the candidate’s nomination form Whipp is up there at the very top.

So it is a surprise to read this in Whipp’s letter:

“Whatever your politics and whoever you vote for nationally please allow me to keep on working for Barnoldswick and for you, by giving me your support locally.”

No rallying call from the Battling Barlicker to support his friend, Afzal Anwar.

In fact, no mention of Anwar at all in any of the stuff that came through my letterbox this morning from the Lib Dems.

Just an ever so desperate plea from David Whipp to support him.

What about Anwar?

Who?
