It is a disgrace that four secondary schools in Pendle, earmarked and guaranteed for major rebuilds by the Labour Government, have had the rug pulled from under them. Throughout the election I listened to the new Conservative MP for Pendle, Andrew Stephenson, reassure people that the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme in Pendle was safe. He didn’t qualify his remarks. No. BSF, he promised, would go ahead. And now this. West Craven, Fisher More, Primet and Park High have had their hopes dashed. And what will Andrew Stephenson now say? That the decision is “unavoidable” and that "we are all in it together"? We wait to hear.
