Next month, in Toronto, Tony Blair will be debating with atheist Christopher Hitchens on the proposition that religion is a force for good in the world. Is religion a force for peace or conflict in the modern world? Discuss. When Blair was in Downing Street, Alastair Campbell famously declared; “We don’t do God”. That’s all changed now. The event on 26 November is being streamed live on www.munkdebates.com Worth watching, I'd say. The Blairs are regular visitors to Canada. Cherie Booth was here a few days ago. And last month Blair was in the TV studios plugging his Journey for all it was worth. When the book came out, people here were interested in the Blair Brown feud and the alleged Canadian parallel. Now, a month later, it all seems like ancient history.
