Yesterday evening, I met the trustees of Islamic Help to find out what they intend to do with the huge Brierfield Mills site which they bought last December. Alas, I am really none the wiser. No paperwork. No business plan. Just the promise of lots of consultation with local people and with statutory agencies and others. I am told the trustees met the planning people at Pendle Council on Tuesday (23 March). I shall be interested to hear what the planners have to say about Islamic Help’s plan to re-locate Ghausia Girls’ School, currently in Cross Street, to the Brierfield site which is, I believe, zoned for employment uses.
